YES Calendar 2013 - Backstage
A citizen of the world in her own, private world.
Although it has a limited print run, there are many people waiting for it. Another edition of the YES Calendar was published at the end of the year, preceded by a premiere presentation. The materials from the photo session lifted the veil of secrecy.
YES Calendars are original photographs, the personality of the model and the beauty of jewellery. Every year the leitmotiv bringing these attractive creations together is different. In 2013 it was the relationship between a woman and her jewellery, presented from the perspective of the woman’s private life. The face of the calendar was Magdalena Frąckowiak, one of the most important international top models working with such brands as Valentino, Christian Lacroix, Chanel, Dior, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Givenchy. Among many others, her face was presented on the cover of the Italian edition of Glamour magazine and the French edition of Vogue magazine.
The relation between Magdalena Frąckowiak and jewellery is special: "For me jewellery is a form of expression. My interest in jewellery is more than just wearing it. I learned how to design jewellery, understand its meaning and construction. This is why I wanted to be a part of this project."
Every photograph was like a page from a private diary. Through her jewellery a woman can speak fully in her own individual voice. Every design is an intimate statement. It is the most personal language, full of important meanings. Magdalena Łuniewska described the photo session in the following way, "Capturing the relationship between the woman and the jewellery she wears is a real challenge for me. I have to observe, and photograph something invisible and unspoken."
"We are very lucky. Incredible talents, fantastic ideas and excellent execution – you can see all of this in these photographs," said Mateusz Madelski, who is responsible for developing the YES brand, about the model and the photographer.
This edition of the calendar presents unique jewellery designs created by YES Designers: Magda Dąbrowska and Katarzyna Bukowska, as well as the Ania Kuczyńska for YES Collection presented during the gala premiere of the 2013 YES Calendar.
